Good Morning All,
I have took my last snowmobile ride for the season, and now as my machine sits on brown grass, my thoughts are looking ahead to bluegrass, and all the fun and shows ahead. Now as you all know, you don’t have to sit by the fire, as there is a lot going on in the winter, as our music is played through out the winter, if you have never been to the ABL, they have shows every month in the winter, and there are two left. The April show will have the Spinney Bros there, and that will be a great show, and then in may, there will be Seth Sawyer Band, and Tony Holt, that will be a awesome show, and the last one of the season at Mollies Mason Jar. Candi and Seth are putting on their last one at the Weston Rod and Gun Club in April, and you don’t want to miss that one, it is always a great time, bring your instrument, and give it a try. Another bright spot on the music scene this year is Dorr’s Gathering Barn in Chittenden, VT. Charley and Eva Dorr are your hosts, and it is open mic, they have a house band, and bring yourself, or your band, it’s a great time, achohol free, and their number is 802-483-6163, and Eva will send you a schedule, and a copy of their web site if you ask, so you see, there is a lot going on in the hills, so why not get out and enjoy it.
As for the Danby Festival, the bands are all booked and we will have a great show, coming back by request are Remington Ryde, Amy Gallatine& Stillwaters, Smokey Greene, also, Corey Zink, and his new band, I heard them this winter, and they are awesome, what a show they will put on. New this year, and I’ve been trying to get them for a while, is the Seth Sawyer Band, I also saw them this winter, and believe me, you will get your moneys worth,Seth has a bluegrass voice, and when you hear him, you’ll know why, plus he is a great song writer as well, with the two Dave’s, to back him up, and sing harmony, and play the breaks, and Candi on bass, you don’t want to miss them! As you know, we keep the old time country in our venue, and we have Cannon Ball Express coming back, Don Bishop, the Just Passin’ Thru BAND, and the Flat Top Trio, and a great band from NY, Cedar Ridge, so you will get your country and your bluegrass all in one.
While your waiting for the Danby Festival, you have the ABL Round UP, Rattling Brook Festival in Belvedere VT, then JENNY BROOK FESTIVAL, in Tunbridge, VT, then BASIN BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL, in Brandon, VT, so you See, you’ll have places to go, and people to see, before you get to Danby, I know I can’t wait, and have tickets brought already. I wish you all a good spring, and I’ll see ya all at the festivals, till next time, DANBY GUY!
